Project summary

The project is a common work of partners on the Slovenian and Croatian side. The project will not only benefit the direct participants but also the citizens of the participating towns are particularly encouraged, as these can help to multiply the practical experience of the richness and diversity of the common heritage of the European Union. Its task is to increase partnerships, mutual relations between citizens, promote exchanges between citizens of two neighbouring countries, give them practical experience of the wealth and diversity of the common cultural heritage. The project will deal with the following issues: promote intercultural dialogue by bringing people of different nationalities and different cultures together and giving them the opportunity to participate in common activities, presentation of cultural richness of the partnership, promote mutual understanding and respect, ensure active participation of citizens at the local level, support for non-discrimination, strengthening and encouring tcooperation between local and regional authorities after the abolition of the Schengen border and internal border checks and exchange of best practices.

Special attention will be paid to the participation of young people who are one of the important elements of society due to their role in the future of the partnership and the EU. The implementation of the project will be conducted through festivals, workshops, cultural events and best practices. The mutual project will be carried out with various events lasting from July 2024 to the end of June 2025.

The Schengen border has also influenced the reduction of travel by locals, especially during the peak tourist season. Now, without the Schengen borders, by creating cultural content, we would encourage stronger connections among the citizens of both countries across the border and create a shared cultural space.

  • Linking citizens and creating friendships
  • Reinforcing mutual understanding and friendship between European citizens
